This album was one of the rewards for supporters of the Future Piano Kickstarter, run in 2019 to raise money to build a lightweight 'Standing Grand' piano. Read more about the Future Piano project at www.futurepiano.co.uk.

The music was created in March 2020 on Sarah's existing Inside-Out Piano, an Erard grand piano from 1900 rebuilt in 2014 by Pierre Malbos. It was recorded in Sarah's studio and is a series of improvisations designed to show the range of sounds possible using the 'inside' of the piano.

On the reward album, there were also extra tracks borrowed from other albums by Sarah: Incessant Rain from Sarah's Daylight Music album and 'Looking in' from 'Everything in Black and White', in which Sarah plays only on the keys.
